Looking for Blackberry 7290 replacement

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

It’s that time again, that i got the itch for a new mobile phone. I think apart from my nokia 9110, my current blackberry 7290 is the phone that i have carried with me the longest.

I have switched a while to an IPAQ 6515 mobile messenge but it just didn’t do the job, specially with the windows mobile locking up the phone 3 times a day, the love for that phone faded quite quickly.

I at least want to have, mobile data (gprs minimum), email (blackberry connect preffered), WiFi while @home or @office and with that SIP VoIP.

It looks like i should be aiming at the nokia E61i, but would like some alternative suggestions if you have any.

Ok it’s been a while i had some action on ReseauCitoyen, but last weekend my i was over at my parents and as good father son bonding we fired up the solder iron and created a power over Ethernet cable for my Node. For now it’s just stuck in front of a window, but when everything is nicely glue’ed together it will be ready for outside placement.

Stop making that noise!

Ok, as you might have guessed, the alarms system is now fully operational and making a lot of noise every time we forget to turn it off on time :)
Next thing on the list is adding the extra X10 Home Automation modules. I’ll have to do some nifty perl scripts to get MisterHouse to do what i want it to :)

Even reports start trialing the use of WiFi public hotspots. This WALL STREET JOURNAL article is about: ABC News’s radio operation is looking to find out, through a current trial here and in Washington, D.C., using the wireless Internet technology. A day with one of its reporters shows the flexibility of Wi-Fi, but also its technological glitches.
